How my health and fitness journey began
It all started when I was young. I can remember being in elementary school and being the heaviest kid in my class. I was always teased and made fun of because of my weight. This continued all the way through high school. I was always the last one picked for sports teams and I always felt left out. My self-esteem was non-existent.
In college, I decided enough was enough. I started working out and eating healthy. It was a slow and steady journey, but eventually, I started seeing results. I lost weight, gained muscle, and most importantly, gained confidence.
Today, my health and fitness journey is still ongoing. It’s become a part of who I am and has truly changed my life for the better. I’m happier, healthier, and more confident than I’ve ever been before – and it all started with making a commitment to myself to live a healthier lifestyle.
Why I decided to make a change
I never really thought about my health or fitness until I hit my early 30s. I started noticing that I was putting on weight, and that I wasn’t as active as I used to be. I realized that I needed to make a change, or I was going to end up overweight and out of shape.
That’s when I decided to start working out and eating healthy. It was a tough road at first, but it quickly became a lifestyle for me. Now, I can’t imagine living any other way.
My journey to better health and fitness has changed my life in so many ways. It’s not just about the physical changes, although those are certainly noticeable. It’s also about the mental and emotional benefits that come with being healthy and fit.
Here are some of the ways that my life has changed for the better since I started living a healthier lifestyle:
Physical Changes
-I’ve lost weight and gotten into better shape
-I have more energy
-I sleep better
-I feel better overall
Mental/Emotional Benefits
-I’m happier and more positive
-I have more self-confidence
-I’m less stressed out
-I have more motivation in all areas of my life
How my health and fitness has changed my life
Every day, we make choices that affect our health and fitness. Some of these choices are big, like whether or not to smoke cigarettes, and some are small, like whether to take the stairs or the escalator. But even the small choices we make can have a big impact on our health and fitness over time.
I used to be very unhealthy. I smoked cigarettes, I ate poorly, and I didn’t exercise at all. But about a year ago, I decided to make some changes. I started working out regularly, eating healthy foods, and quitting smoking.
These changes have had a huge impact on my life. I’ve lost weight, I’ve gained muscle, and I’ve got more energy than ever before. My clothes fit better, I sleep better at night, and I just feel better overall.
But more importantly than the physical changes, my mental health has improved as well. I’m happier now than I’ve ever been, and I attribute that in part to my improved physical health.
Making changes to my health and fitness has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. If you’re thinking about making some changes in your own life, I encourage you to do it! You might just be surprised by how much it can improve your life in every way.
The biggest changes I’ve seen in my health and fitness
Since I started paying attention to my health and fitness, the biggest changes I’ve seen have been in my energy levels, mood, and overall sense of wellbeing.
Before, I was always tired, cranky, and felt like I had no energy to do anything. Now, I wake up feeling rested and refreshed, and I have more energy throughout the day to get things done. I’m also in a better mood overall, and I feel like my overall sense of wellbeing has improved.
Health and fitness have definitely changed my life for the better, and I’m grateful that I made the decision to start taking care of myself. If you’re thinking about making a change in your own life, I encourage you to do it! It’s worth it, trust me.
How my diet has changed
I used to eat a lot of fast food and processed snacks. Now, I cook most of my meals from scratch and focus on eating fresh, whole foods. I’ve also cut out sugary drinks and replaced them with water or unsweetened tea. as a result, I have more energy and feel better overall.
How my exercise routine has changed
I used to think that exercise was a punishment. Something that I had to do because I wasn’t naturally thin and didn’t want to be overweight. So, I would go through the motions of working out, but I wasn’t really invested in it. I would half-heartedly try different workout programs and give up when they got too hard or too boring.
But then something changed. I started to see exercise as an opportunity to improve my health and my mood. And I began to find joy in movement. Now, working out is a regular part of my routine and I can’t imagine not doing it. It has transformed my body and my mind.
Exercise has helped me become stronger and more toned. I’ve also lost weight and lowered my body fat percentage. But more than that, exercise has made me feel happier and more confident. It’s given me energy and helped me sleep better at night. It’s even improved my skin!
I used to think that fitness was all about how you looked on the outside. But now I know that it’s so much more than that. It’s about how you feel on the inside too. And for me, that’s what makes it worth doing every day.
The biggest challenges I’ve faced with my health and fitness journey
Like many people, I struggled with my weight for most of my life. I tried every fad diet and exercise program out there, but nothing seemed to work. I was always yo-yo dieting and my weight would fluctuate by as much as 20 pounds each year. I was never able to stick with anything long enough to see any real results.
In January 2018, I decided that enough was enough. I was going to finally get serious about my health and fitness. I started following a healthy eating plan and working out regularly. It wasn’t easy at first, but I was determined to stick with it this time.
The biggest challenges I faced were staying motivated and dealing with setbacks. There were times when I wanted to give up, but I didn’t because I knew how important it was to me. My hard work paid off and by May 2018, I had lost 30 pounds!
My health and fitness journey has changed my life in so many ways. I am now happier and healthier than I have ever been before. If you are thinking about making a change in your life, don’t give up! Trust me, it will be worth it in the end!
The best things about my new healthy lifestyle
Living a healthy lifestyle has innumerable benefits, both mental and physical. For me, making the commitment to health and fitness was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. These are some of the ways my life has changed for the better since I started taking my health seriously.
I have more energy.
One of the first things I noticed after starting to live a healthier lifestyle was that I had more energy. Eating nutritious foods and exercising regularly has given me sustained energy throughout the day, instead of the highs and lows that come with an unhealthy diet. I no longer need caffeine to get through the day, and I can actually enjoy a good night’s sleep!
I’m happier.
When I am taking care of my body and mind, I am happier overall. I have more patience and focus, and I’m generally in a better mood. This is likely due to the release of endorphins that comes with exercise, as well as the satisfaction of knowing I am doing something good for myself.
My skin is better.
Eating healthy foods and drinking plenty of water has really improved my skin. It’s now rare for me to get pimples, and my skin looks glow-y and radiant. Of course, this could also be due to the fact that I’m no longer stressing out about my weight or appearance!
I’m stronger mentally and emotionally.
Since making changes to my lifestyle, I have found myself to be stronger mentally and emotionally as well. Dealing with difficult situations is now easier for me because I have developed a greater sense of self-awareness and confidence. Additionally, managing stress has become easier, since exercise is an excellent way to let off steam.
The worst things about my new healthy lifestyle
There are a few things that I don’t like about my new healthy lifestyle. I have to eat healthier foods, which means no more junk food or fast food. I also have to exercise every day, which can be a challenge sometimes. Overall, though, I think the benefits of being healthy and fit outweigh the drawbacks.
Why I’m continuing on my health and fitness journey
I’m continuing on my health and fitness journey because I want to be healthy and fit for the long term. I don’t want to yo-yo diet or injure myself with extreme workouts. I want to find a balance that works best for my body, mind, and soul.
My health and fitness journey has taught me so much about myself. I’ve learned that I am stronger than I thought I was, both physically and mentally. I’ve learned that I can stuck to a plan if I’m motivated enough. And, most importantly, I’ve learned that taking care of my body is one of the most important things I can do for myself.
I’m not perfect, and I don’t expect to be. But, I am committed to continuing on this journey so that I can be the best possible version of myself.
